As we get ready to put 2012 into the rear-view mirror, it's time to take a few minutes to review the goals you set at the beginning of the year. Did you achieve them? If not, do you know why and, more importantly, did you learn anything that will help you in 2013?
As you start making your 2013 goals, one of the keys to your success will be to establish short and long-term goals and write them down. If need be, chunk them down into weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly goals.
No, one of my 2013 goals is not to be part of the pro peloton. However, I do want to enjoy riding some of the beautiful climbs in Europe. I have this picture as a visual reminder of my purpose, goals and intent.
Clarifying your goals for the New Year will give you hope. It will enhance your desire and start moving you in a new direction. Focus and discipline are the driving forces behind every significant and successful life. Making your dreams a reality takes hard work!
Always remember, "If you waste your time, you waste your life. Make every moment count!
Just a couple of items to help you in your 2013 goal planning:
- In my last posting, I mentioned the Ride Fit indoor training videos. Gary Hawkins, Founder of Ride Fit, and a friend of mine, is offering a 20% discount off the purchase of Ride Fit videos. Head on over to Ride Fit and type in CYCLINGCEO423 in the coupon box at check out to get the discount. It is not case sensitive, just enter into the coupon code box and hit apply coupon. This also makes a great holiday gift for the cyclist in your life.
- Tomorrow, the 13th, is registration for the Tour of California Alps, a.k.a. California Death Ride. Registration opens at 10 am Pacific and usually fills up in about five to ten minutes. This ride is on my 2013 goal list. How about you?
Hope everyone has a great and safe holiday season!
Mark
